Chopping Corn

Today is the 1st day of corn chopping! This is the field behind our backyard.

Brandon got me so good!!! A week earlier, he said we had dinner reservations at 8, so be ready by 7pm, and that he had everything taken care of, including a babysitter for William. So I've been so excited about dinner. It would be just the two of us. I figured IF there's a secret party that he'd plan it for Sunday.

Then Saturday comes around and he's rushing me out the door. We zip over to Lana's to drop off Will, and Kent says Lana is in the backyard and wants to wish me a Happy Birthday before we go. This is the video of me going down her deck stairs to find her...

I was SHOCKED to say the least! Didn't suspect a thing! There must have been 40 people under there, so I jumped big time when they yelled, "Surprise!". I was born in 1980, so every one was dressed up in 80's clothes and hair-doe's. Shannon, Mythanne, and Katie took me in the house to dress me up in the outfit they picked for me, and they put my hair in a sweet side pony tale with scrunchies. lol... it was so fun!

We all walked around the corner to Grandma Mary Ann's house where everyone secretly parked. We had the BBQ party there.

Here's Brandon and I dressed up for the party. Brandon got himself a mullet wig. He used to have a mullet in high school and always teases me that he's gonna grow it back, but I could NEVER allow that. His hot pink "Ski Utah" hat he found in Kent's closet. haha... I love it!

Brandon had some 80's trivia. I only got all the names of the New Kids On The Block guys right. They were my first concert I ever went to.

Baylee's Soccer Game

Saturday morning, Baylee had her second game. Their team name is The Lucky Clovers. She has lots of her friends from school on her team, so I'm sure she'll have lots of fun playing this year.

Brandon took the morning off work, so we could watch her play. They lost this game by one goal, but won the week before. They're a really good team!

Playing in the Backyard

William was taking a nap, so Kalyssa and I went in the backyard to hang out.

Willie woke up and the sun came out! I just cleaned his swing and hung it back on the tree. It's been down for a few months. Figured he should get to use it before it gets too cold outside.

Kalyssa wasn't paying attention and he's coming back to get her. lol.

Kalyssa In Dance

This was Kalyssa's 1st night in her new dance class. She's never been signed up for anything, so I figured it was time. She said she wanted to be in dance more than anything else... without a doubt! And is SO excited!!!

This is Kalyssa and her cousin Taylee at their dance class. Kalyssa was all smiles when I picked her up. She showed me and her older sisters what she learned when we got home.

Abbee is in dance this year too and started last week, but she goes to a different studio on a night we don't have her. Baylee also just started playing fall soccer last week and practices on Thursday's when we don't have her either. I'll have to get pictures of them during a dance recital and a soccer game later. :)

On the Farm

Sunday evening we walked to the Dairy to get out of the house. Brandon rode the 4-wheeler with William to fix the tire in the shop real quick...

This is the corn field between our house and the Dairy where Brandon works. The dirt Lane is only a quarter mile to get there... if that. We stopped to take this picture in front of the corn that will be chopped down very soon. :(

Craft Day

Oh, how I love Craft Days!

Saturday morning we went to Shannon's to get started. Mythanne, Porsia, Shannon and I made these super cute fall trees. It's my birthday soon, so the girls picked out what we were making and got all the stuff for me as my gift... was so sweet! We spray painted, glued, clipped flowers and leaves off stems and arranged them into the foam balls... put some cute Spanish moss in the pots... and 4 hours later... here they are! I chased William around a little and snacked a lot in between, so it turned into a long project, but it's so fun! I can't wait for our next Craft Day. :)

Just Us Girls

Friday night, Kalyssa and I went to Mary's with all my nail stuff hoping Nate was busy. Brandon was bailing hay late and it turns out Nate was gone for the night camping with the Boy Scouts. Perfect nail night for us girls!
