Happy Halloween

After church we got dressed up in our costumes one last time. Hallelujah!!! I'm so done with Halloween by now. lol. But Grandma MaryAnn is having a family Halloween Party with chili and bread sticks for dinner. I LOVE her homemade bread sticks and rolls! :)

This is Chance (11 yrs. old) in his Star Wars costume. Commanders carry Nerf guns! 

It was so funny, we watched him for 15 minutes while he put each piece on. He said it took him 11 months to make this himself. He's pretty clever AND ambitious!

Brandon tried to put his mullet wig on William, but Will won't wear such things. Good boy Will. :)

Will is tired and is hitting MaryAnn in the face... his new bad habit. :/

This is so gross, so don't look if you have a weak stomach! I made the picture small to minimize detail, but it's something we'll look back on and laugh, so I couldn't resist. The kids have ate WAY TOO MUCH CANDY!!! They have been in bed sleeping for over an hour, I heard one of them coughing so I peeked in to see which one might be coming down with a cold. First I noticed the bad smell, then I saw the vomit all over Kalyssa on the bottom bunk! Abbee had vomited on her while in her sleep! Kalyssa covers her head with her blanket every night... thank goodness! Cause it was right over her face. I have no idea how anyone could throw up while sleeping and not wake up... but leave it to our dear Abbee. :) So, it's 11:30 and we had to wake the girls, tell them what happened, and get them in the shower, strip their blankets and beds, mop the floor, and sterilize everything nearby! Whew...

Trick or Treat

Here in Utah, everyone went Trick or Treating on Saturday since Halloween fell on the Sabbath this year. I think that is so cool... makes me wonder how many other states did this. Our Stake had a "Trunk or Treat" at the church but it was pouring rain, so it was moved inside the gym. Chairs lined the walls and made rows down the middle of the court, so the kids could walk in line to those sitting down and passing out Halloween candy.

Kalyssa is dressed in her "warmer" version of her Ladybug costume.

William's 1st year Trick or Treating!

He got the hang of it fast... with a little coaching, he'd take candy from the bowl and put it in his pumpkin then walk to the next bowl. Sometimes he'd take 2... one for each hand. Everyone thought he was so cute and didn't seem to mind.

Then we went to the Parslow's Halloween Party and ate lots of good food. Will was so tired, so Brandon took him home so he could get a nap. Kalyssa and I stayed at the party. We all loaded onto the Hay Ride to go Trick or Treating around the neighborhood.

Halloween Parade

I went to the school's Halloween parade to see the girls as they walked by with their classes and their costumes. We didn't have Baylee & Abbee before school that morning, so we haven't seen their costumes yet.

More Sugar!

My visiting teaching ladies brought me a Halloween bag of chocolates that William got a hold of. I thought he would just play with the Hersey Nuggets... ya know?... take them out of the bag... then put them all back again...

Well, he got one unwrapped and put the whole chocolate nugget in his mouth...

lol... Brandon and I both love sugar! Poor William had no chance.

Carving Pumpkins

Tuesday night was the last night we'll have all the kids together at the same time before Halloween, so we ran to the neighbor's pumpkin patch and bought 4 pumpkins for the kids to carve.

Brandon carved William's pumpkin and he was not interested in the process.

Baylee, Abbee, and Kalyssa cleaned theirs out and drew the faces on the front.

I guess Will changed his mind, and came back to sit on dad's lap to watch. He actually ate a piece of pumpkin that was on the table, then spit it out. lol... I'm sure that didn't taste too good.

The kids all went to bed at different times after carving pumpkins with it being a school night, so I never got a picture of them with their pumpkins. I took these pictures the next day.

Baylee's pumpkin on the left, she wanted a star on hers. Abbee's pumpkin on the right, she wanted a bow.

Kalyssa's on the left, she also wanted a bow on her pumpkin and a pair of cute cheeks. Brandon carved Will's pumpkin and made the face. He's so funny, cause he carved 5 teeth in it just like William's teeth are... haha... clever man!

M&M's

M&M's is William's favorite candy (and dum dum suckers). I saw him reaching for the candy dish to get some, so I put them on the edge of the table for him.

He just put them all in at once... that's more his style when it comes to food.

Then he retires to the window... lol... he's such a sweet boy.

FHE

Every year around Halloween, Lana has us all over for a special Family Home Evening. She made us yummy homemade chili and bread sticks. We about ate the whole pot! We made caramel apples and sugar cookies afterward. 

Ryder looks SO cute in his Halloween leggins! lol... the boys gave Missy a hard time about them... they said Ryder had tights on. They're just jealous and wish they had some too! Haha.

Mythanne chopped up candy to roll our caramel apples in.... Mmmm. :)

Cookie time!!!

When Kent starts rolling out the dough, Abbee is always right there to help cut them out. I remember she loved this part last year too.

I wanted mine rolled in chopped Reeses Cups, my absolute favorite.

I tried to chop a Snickers bar for Brandon to roll his apple in... the caramel just stuck to the blades and the idea didn't work at all. :(

Kalyssa and Abbee are still cutting all the cookies out in fun Halloween shapes. Kalyssa got flour on her face and half way up her arms.

Haha!!! I love Kent's smile here... reminds me of the cheesy smiles the girls give me when they don't want their pictures taken.

Shawn was so funny... he'd frost a cookie and then eat it, frost another and then eat it... the only cookies they took home were the ones Shannon frosted.

This time she has frosting all over her. She wouldn't make faces with the candy like everyone else, she'd just make rows on them until they were completely covered. Haha... so cute.
