28 Weeks

This month has gone by so fast! I'm now 28 weeks pregnant, and feel stuffed! Haha. I have to sit back and stretch out my lungs to breathe these days... no slouching!

This is Baby "A" and her cute foot! She has a long 2nd toe and it makes her foot look more like a hoof. haha. I can't wait to kiss her little sweet feet.

Baby "B" and her foot on the right. It's not as clear as the other baby's foot picture is. :/

Babies are still growing right on target. Both weigh exactly the same today at 2 lbs 10 oz each. Baby "A" has always been head down at every appointment, but not this time. Both babies are breech! I really hope that changes. My doctor said there is plenty of time for them to move and change positions before delivery. Baby "A" has too much fluid in her kidneys, so they will watch that for next time to see if it has fixed itself... as they expect it to, and said not to worry.

How's Mama doing??? Dr. Wood measured my stomach again... I'm measuring as if I was at 35 weeks with one baby! lol. Getting big!!! My stomach has grown a lot but my weight gain has slowed down somehow. Only 4 pounds up from 4 weeks ago. I have felt so exhausted in the last couple of weeks. I don't know if it's the heat, or just that I'm in my third trimester with twins (so what do I expect?!), or if it's a combination of both. But WOW, I don't remember feeling so tired so fast with my other pregnancies... even at the end. I definitely have evenings where I know I've met my physical limits for the day, and should relax. I'm still going strong on the treadmill everyday with no cramping. I haven't had to adjust my workouts to lower settings at all in the past month. Really happy about that!

My appointments have changed from once a month to every two weeks now, so another update very soon. :)

Names Are Chosen!

A couple months ago when we found out we were having twin girls... names have been tough to decide. All along if we had a girl, Paisley would be her name... but now we need another one. I went through the big baby name book twice and nothing really struck me for the second name. Getting frustrated, I told Brandon it's his job to pick the other name. :) A few days later, he came to me and said he heard the old George Strait song "Check Yes or No" and really liked the name Amy Lou in the song. I don't really like the name Amy, but I liked the Lou part, so I wasn't totally against it. As the weeks have gone by, he's been sticking with it! Kind of concerning me lately. haha. And he's been getting lots of crap from family about picking Amy Lou and that it doesn't go with Paisley at all. THEN, Missy to the rescue! She text Brandon last night correcting him that in the song the gals name is actually Emmylou, not Amy Lou. I LOVE Emmylou!!! It's totally cute and seems more country to me to go along with Paisley. I really liked the name Emma, but not with Paisley, so Emmy was easy to love for me. Brandon and I both agree now. :)

I'm so excited we now have two names that seem to "fit"... Paisley Ann & Emmy Lou.

Brandon's 31st Birthday

Brandon turns 31 years old tomorrow, and he wanted to have a small, simple BBQ to celebrate... so that's what we did.

The Birthday Boy

My dear husband is a real piece of work! A week before Father's Day he circled a shot gun he wanted in the Cal Ranch ad and left it on the counter for me to find hoping I'd get the hint. I got it alright, and went there that day to pick it up. Trying to make it a surprise still, for Father's Day I gave him everything but the gun he wanted. He confessed his efforts to drop the hint of what he wanted to family members later on Father's Day sounding disappointed that he didn't get it. I just played dumb and laughed along with everyone else. I saved it as a birthday present that was only a week later. My plan worked! He WAS surprised and excited to get it today. :)

Brandon said all he wanted for his birthday was a new basketball and to play 21 with Kole, Riley and Shawn...

...he got his wish.
They play basketball together every Wednesday already... he must really enjoy it.

I had to get a picture of the super cute cupcakes Katie made him.

Water Day

It was our turn to get the water today, so when the kids saw the water coming into the backyard from the ditch, they had to run right through it! Willie's shorts were falling off cause they were soaked, so i put his swimsuit on. Kalyssa didn't want to bother putting her suit on. And what do I care? Less sunblock to put on her... :) Omgosh!!! I must be a redneck! lol.

Kalyssa called Taylee and Makayla over to play.

They hauled water to the sandbox to build stuff.

I let William play in it for 5 hours, and go way passed his nap time. About 3:30 I decided he better get his nap in, and took him to the bathtub kicking and screaming before I laid him down. He was so mad at me.

The water in the yard was starting to dry up, so the girls moved to the trampoline and put the sprinkler underneath it.

Watering Weeds

I let William water the flower pot on my porch, and he wanted to do it over and over again. I led him to the backyard to water this weed in the corner of his sandbox as much as he'd like. He watered it about 5 times! Finally, I had to hide the pale and get him focused on something else.

Birthday Poster

It was Abbee's turn to plan FHE this week. She chose to have it in honor of her Dad for his birthday next week. Me and the kids made a poster with several reasons why he is special to us and hung it up for the week. He worked late and saw it when he got home.

4 Wheelin

Will & Ryder both got on this 4 wheeler, and rolled it later when Will tried to push them forward. It was funny since neither of them got hurt. haha.

Best Nap Ever

Willie went to work with Brandon today, and fell asleep on the floor of the tractor. Brandon took this picture with his phone and sent it to me.

Lamar's Viewing

Missy and Ryder
We were at Grandpa Lamar's viewing and I didn't even recognize Ryder when I saw him! He's always had such long hair! Missy cut it and he looks like a little boy now instead of a baby. :(
But he looked so so cute with a fohawk... Love it!

Will and Ryder outside.

We're going to miss Grandpa so much. He always had kind words for me and made sure I knew I was a special addition to his family since I married Brandon. I appreciated that so much from him whom I have a lot of respect for.
Brandon said he's lost another one of his heroes. Lamar was a major positive influence in his life. He loved going to Grandma's and Lamar's for lunch and they've talked about farming for hours, just the two of them, over the years. The night before Lamar passed away, we'd been at their house all day, when the night came Brandon didn't want to leave his side in case "grandpa" wanted him to stay. Brandon slept on the bedroom floor next to Grandpa's bed snoring with no pillow or blanket. ;) None of us know how he could fall asleep on the floor like that. Grandpa passed away the next day (June 12th) about 1pm with lots of family there with him. We will miss him.

Flooding

The Weber River runs behind the dairy where Brandon works. It's flooded 350 acres where corn is normally already planted this time of year. The river hasn't flooded since the early 80's, so I thought I'd get some pictures. These are the fields behind the dairy that are completely covered in water.

They've been hauling free dirt in from Willard Bay to build dikes up to prevent even more water from over flowing the banks of the river. The sooner it dries up, the sooner they can plant corn here for cow feed. This has been a terrible loss for the farmers in the area. Lots of reporters have been here tracking the flood and the huge impact it's had on everyone.

These helicopters were bringing in 2,000 pound bags of sand to line the river with to help try to save homes nearby. They worked on this for a few days.

I was taking pictures of the helicopters from my house and saw Will trying to feed the pigs chunks of dirt.

Summer Slumber Party

Mallorie, Maddie, and Brinlee came over for dinner and a sleep over with my girls.

They played Apples to Apples...

Jumped out of the tree onto the trampoline...

Swung...

...and watched a movie with popcorn until 10:00. Lights out after that at my house... :)

Jackpot in Morgan, UT

Baylee and a few other girls in her 4-H club keep the lambs cool with wet towels.

Baylee has her new lamb for this year. She named him Buddy. It's her 2nd year showing a lamb and she is participating in Jackpots throughout the summer where she pays a fee and competes with her lamb against all the other kids that show up. Just like the fair, there is weight classes, and showmanship competitions.
The judge is checking her lamb in this picture.

Bay got 2nd place in her class, and 4th place overall. Then she got 3rd in Showmanship. She was just one place shy of winning some money, but these jackpots are such good practice leading up to the fair in August.
