4 Weeks Old
Introducing binkies to the twins. :)
Nursing twins is hard! Especially when they are numbers 5 and 6 in the family. They were on only breast milk for the first two weeks, then half formula and half breast milk after that. Paisley is a pro... she'll suck on anything, but Emmy hates nursing. She wants everything in a bottle, so I've been pumping for her since she refuses to latch on. Life is so busy now... its hard to nurse and it hurts! I'm not liking the whole nursing thing. I'm slowly going to stop and only nurse when I have to from now on. They had the important colostrum they need... and after 2 nights of crying and feeling completely overwhelmed, I seriously need to do what works to keep me sane. So my logic (and justification so I don't feel too guilty) is that kids who are formula fed end up the same as kids who aren't... you can't even tell by looking at them! Why all the pressure to nurse? I think its wonderful, but not for my un-perfect world.
Will is giving foot inspections today with his flash light...
...cute boy.

Jen's 31st Birthday
Mythanne made me a yummy birthday cake! So we went to Lana's for cake and ice cream.
Lana had four #1 candles. She made a row of 3, and then 1 behind it... for 31 years... haha. Brandon took this picture and caught Willie picking his nose. :0/
Ryder has birthday cake on his face.
I got a gift card to Real Deals for some home decor, new running shoes, and a Cricut for crafting! I'm so excited!
After we got home, Angela came over to see me and meet the twins for the first time. They will be 4 weeks old tomorrow... time is flying by!

2 Weeks Old
The twins are 2 weeks and 1 day old. I'm SUPER tired!!! They want to eat every 3 hours still, so I get about 3 hours of sleep at night. Brandon has been amazing!!! He has taken William to work with him everyday so I could nap throughout the day when the twins do. It's seriously the only thing that has saved me from going crazy. Having twins is so hard. One baby is so easy compared to this.
...But I love my babies to pieces!

Shay Died
William's poor little puppy died. We had her for only 1 month. Shay was turning into such a good little dog for us. We could take her to Lana's and Grandma's house down the street and she'd stay right next to us. She never would wonder off. Yesterday, we took her to Grandma Mary Ann's house and it was thunder and lightning outside. She was scared and hiding inside Grandma's garage. We took her home to our backyard, and this morning, Brandon found her dead in the road.. We figure she got spooked from the storm last night, and got out through our fence somehow and was hit by a car. We're so sad and surprised she got out. She always stayed close to our back door and never wondered far out into the yard to the fence lines. All the fences were closed, so she must have squeezed through somewhere. I broke the news to our girls before they got on the bus to school. They were all very somber and didn't say anything in response. I asked them if they were okay, and they all just nodded, yes. We said a little family prayer before they left and off they went to school. I was worried how their day would be. Turns out Kalyssa cried to her teacher and friends. :( And I feel bad for Will cause he doesn't understand any of it.
We're going to miss you Shay Shay...

Picture Day
The twins are 7 days old today... I was so excited to take their pictures! I borrowed Katie's nice camera and took their pictures on the dresser and in my bedroom...
Paisley Ann in her tutu...
I was hoping they would be asleep while I took these so I could mold them into a position I wanted, but no such luck.
Emmy hated lying on the dresser without being swaddled in a blanket... she cried and cried. Then Mary came over and once she entered the room, Emmy stopped crying.
Emmy Lou in her tutu...
Then I took their picture together using the fresh flowers from a bouquet we received from Brandon's friends at Les Schwab Tires. Taking pictures seriously took all day! Every noise they heard, they'd jump, and Paisley's leg would kick Emmy below and mess up all the flowers I carefully placed around them. lol... I swear I'll never do this again! But I'm happy with how they turned out in the end. :)
This is their birth announcement I mailed out

1st Night In Crib
It's 10:00 o'clock... got the little lamp light on... the house is settling down... "Okay girls! I miss sleeping next to my husband, so its time to have you sleep in your own bed!" I'm feeling hopeful that tonight will be relaxing having the extra room in our bed and I get to fall asleep in Brandon's arms like I'm used to...
But of course... as the night went on, and I was up every 2 hours, it was actually more work to get out of my bed to get them out of theirs, spend time in a rocking chair feeding for 2 1/2 hours, then putting them back down again and returning to my own bed for maybe another hour before the cycle repeated itself.... AHHHH!!!! They were back in my bed again by the next night! All of us sleep better that way. :0/ ...for now.

1st Sponge Bath
The twins are 3 days old today. I gave them their first sponge bath, and both of them cried... didn't really like it. :) I waited until Kalyssa was home from school. I knew she would love to help get them dressed.
Emmy was first, since Paisley was still asleep.
Then I woke up Paisley for her sponge bath...
It's fun getting them dressed and picking their clothes out. Their newborn clothes are way too big.
It's so cute when they lay next to each other... their arms are waving around like crazy... they poke each other's eyes and whack each other in the face. They don't seem to care, they just want food!
