Will's Last Preschool Field Trip - On The Farm

At preschool there has been a field trip almost every month this year. It's their last field trip and they went to Teacher Andrea's Dairy Farm.

Andrea was trying to talk the preschool kids into letting this Jersey calf suck on their fingers.

Will was the first to stick out his fingers...

That calf latched on and sucked his fingers right in!!! Will jumped and was really surprised by it... it was funny. He was laughing.

Paisley found Kalyssa's lip gloss on the counter right before we left home and she's been applying it for 20 minutes straight! Lol.

The calf jumped at her and she ran. Haha.

Andrea brought us to the milk barn and explained how they get milk from the cows.

We went under ground and she showed us how the milk goes down into these pipes, and they felt how warm the pipes are from the milk.

Then in the room where the milk tanks are, she showed them that the warm milk is cooled within 30 seconds to pasteurize it.

Then they felt the pipes on the other wall, and they were cold after pasteurization. 

She let us peek in the tank.

Teacher Andrea picked up each kid to let them see the milk inside.

It's an hour later, Paisley is STILL applying her lip gloss.

My Emmy Lou wanted to sit in the tractor tire.

We walked back to class for a dairy treat... Gogurt and string cheese!

I miss that dairy farm! It's where my story with Brandon all began... :) Lots of good memories there. Will is starting to understand that Daddy doesn't work at this "barn" anymore, he works at a different "barn". :0( So bittersweet.

Lava Hot Springs in Our New Trailer

We bought a new toy hauler this week, and it's rainy weather, so Brandon worked a half day today and we left for Lava Hot Springs for a quick getaway in our new trailer!

Saturday:

Lava has indoor pools that are kept super warm... it was so nice! The kids loved it!!!

Brandon is swimming with Paisley in the kiddie pool.

We all went over to the bigger indoor pool to swim in deeper water. I was taking pictures for a minute...

Emmy gets a ride from Daddy.

Then Willie's turn.

Emmy wants to go with Kalyssa.

Paisley swallowed water in the kiddie pool and didn't want to leave the steps at this bigger pool. She's a smart one.

Now I'm all in! Will decides to let go of the side and try to swim in 4 feet of water like Kalyssa is. His head went under and I could see him start to struggle under water, so I jumped in to grab him. I swear he does this every time we go near water. He tries to swim and ends up swallowing water. He must have 9 lives! He coughed for a minute and is OK. 

Me and Kalyssa went swimming in the swim lane to race each other and the twins watched. :)

Will really likes that he can trap and release the water here. He played with it for an hour.

We swam for 4 hours. :)

Brandon ran to get us take-out pizza for dinner, now it's bedtime. Our first night trying out the trailer. They loved their beds! The twins started wrestling each other instead of going to sleep and was keeping all of us up. Brandon ended up separating them in different beds. We slept good after that. :)

Sunday:

Brandon is so sweet. He got the kids cereal in the morning and got them dressed to play out by the river... all while I slept snug in bed. I love to sleep in Sunday mornings. Brandon is so sweet to always let me do that!

It was a little chilly this morning.

Paisley was busy finding sticks to play with.

It was awesome camping right next to the river.

They threw sticks into it...

Lol... I caught this one mid-flight.

Kalyssa made herself nuggets for lunch.

Then he invited me back outside to make sure I got a picture of him skimming the surface of the water with his long sticks. :)

Brandon took Emmy to gas up the truck before we head back home. We goofed off in the trailer... warming up with the heater cranked up high.

I put stuff away for the drive home.

Will noticed this squirrel outside the window.

It was looking for food around the campsite tables. Kalyssa and Will went out to put nuts on the table and ran back in the trailer to see if he'd come get it. He never did before we left home. 

We are SO SO happy to be camping again! We've all missed it like crazy the past year and a half! Good family times ahead.
