Will In Kiddie Pool

It was warm today, so I got excited and took out the kiddie pool I bought for William last summer.

The water from the hose was freezing and it wasn't a hot day that you'd want to cool down from, so I only filled it like 2 inches. Haha.

William didn't mind one bit and was loving his little pool.

He started to get creative and slid down on his stomach.

Ironing

We went to Mitzi's house for Sunday dinner yesterday and I forgot my camera!!! Ah, I wasn't happy! Anyway, she gave Kalyssa this tiny iron she used for sewing projects. Kalyssa kept asking when we were leaving cause she couldn't wait to get home and use her new iron for her baby clothes. Kind of funny the things they get excited over.

Mitzi's House

We haven't been up to see Brandon's parents for awhile. We drove up for a Sunday dinner today...

The rain stopped and we sat by the fire and the kids got rides on the hay wagon. Brandon and Russ had to take turns pulling them cause they didn't want to give it a rest. :)

Mitzi snapped this fabulous picture!!! lol... this is exactly why I like warnings before someone takes my picture... cause I get caught making a totally weird face while enjoying a peanutbutter bar.

Don't the kids look bored while waiting for another ride? lol... life is so tough.

It was really nice to go up there and spend some time with Russ and Mitzi.

Fun & A Little Crafting

Brandon was home for the evening and it was beautiful outside...

...he gets these crazy ideas to tow the Jeep behind the 4 wheeler.

Will is happy and ready!

Kalyssa hopped in when she saw the fun William was having.

Brandon wasn't going slow and would purposely make the Jeep skid on every turn. Kalyssa later told me that the Jeep was on 2 wheels at one point. Kalyssa was screaming so William copied her and started screaming too. I don't think he knew why, he has no fear and was perfectly calm.

Somehow, Will hung on and they had a blast for about an hour. :)

Meanwhile, I crafted! Haha. I found this old 11x14 picture frame Brandon had before we were married... took the glass and backing out the middle, and spray painted the frame white with some paint I already had from an old project. Then I went out to our chicken coupe and cut an extra piece of the chicken wire off it to fit the frame.

I folded the little metal pieces around the frame over the wire to hold it in place. I couldn't wait to clip the headband bows we made a few weeks ago onto it!
The chicken wire was SUCH a cute idea!!! Inspired by Shannon! I have to give her major props. I love how it looks in the twins bedroom. :)

The picture frame turned out so cute that I got enough courage to spray paint my wire flower white too. It was just the original metal color before, and was hard to notice against the red brick of my house. I got brave enough to paint it and I'm so glad I did... it's much better.

Movie at School

It was supposed to be a fun "Field Day" outside for all the students, but because of the rainy weather they changed it to an indoor Movie Day instead...

Will & I met Kalyssa in the gym for the movie. Halfway through they paused it to do a dance they all learned for Field Day.

I didn't know that the 2nd graders were in there too until I spotted Abbee during the dance, so her and her friend came over to sit with us for the rest of the movie.

Abbee & her friend Abby. Everyone got popcorn and a CapriSun.

Will, Callie & Kalyssa

Will would not take his eyes off the movie. He was so good and laid down for the whole thing.

Choir Program

It's Baylee's last Cowboy Choir performance of the year. I think she's really enjoyed her 1st year in the school choir with her friends.

She is on the bottom row, 2nd person in from the left. She's the only one folding her arms... maybe she was nervous. :)

They had to kind of dance on one song.
We sat on the side of the room, so Brandon took the camera and went to the back of the gym to get a few pictures. It's hard when you're so far away to get good ones. But these are better than none for sure.

1st Grade Program

Kalyssa had an end-of-the-year program for 1st grade. It was a jungle theme and very cute. When she had her turn at the microphone to say her line, Will was on my lap and totally bumped me, so that picture is blurry.

One song they sang she was one of the 4 dancers with tutu's on.

At the end of the song, she holds in a ballerina pose on the left. Later she told me that that was the most embarrassing part when the boy next to her had to put his hand on her shoulder. lol.

Me, Kalyssa, and William in the hall after the program.

She did great and looked like she had fun on stage. Luckily, Will was totally behaved through the whole thing. Whew! Love that! :)

Show & Teach

The 4th grade students have to present a "Show & Teach" lesson to their class. The student teaches the class something they consider themselves to be an "expert" at. Baylee got 1st place with her lamb at the fair last year, so she chose to give her 15 minute presentation about lambs.

She showed the class her 2 blue ribbons and belt buckle she won. Then talked about sheep by-products and parts of the lamb.

She brought a bag of lamb feed to pass around the class and told what they eat.

She made this poster of her at the fair as part of her presentation too. Then she passed out a 5 question test at the end to determine if the class learned what she taught them well.
She did a wonderful job!!!
I'm so proud of her. She knew what she wanted in her presentation from the beginning, and came up with the test questions all on her own.
Way to go Bay!

Surprise

Will walked up to me to show me his finger... I looked at it and he brought me a booger. He's such a good boy. :)

Train Set

The movie watching is getting out of hand. That's all he wants to do! When the rain cleared up yesterday I had to put his jacket on and send him in the backyard to play cause he watched TV all day. This morning I wanted to do something fun with William and felt ambitious enough to put together his train set. Its usually assembled in an oval shape on his bedroom floor, but today I wanted to use all the pieces. He loves it... especially the little hills it has now. This will keep him busy from the TV today. :)

Backyard Picnic

It was 72 degrees and really nice outside. Kalyssa and Will were playing in the backyard, so I brought out a blanket and we had a little picnic lunch.

Kalyssa gave him a little push in his swing to get him started...

...then he pulls on this rope to keep himself swinging after that. Haha. I guess he got tired of playing, and I found him laying on the blanket later.

Tractor Ride

I'm driving behind Brandon and Will in the tractor and snapped this picture. I wish I could've gotten more, but my camera battery died. We are headed to a field nearby. We only had William Friday and Saturday night, and Brandon had so much ground to work, so me and Will rode with him both nights. I love being with Brandon in a tractor somewhere at sunset. Now that we have a little break from the rain and floods it was finally time to get some fields ready to plant corn soon. It's about a month late this year cause of the weather we've had. I couldn't wait to go for a ride, and I finally had the chance.
I'm sad that my days of going with Brandon are numbered. The twins will be here soon and it would be too hard to try to take our 3 tiny kids with us for a ride. That means less time with Brandon in the months that he works long hours if I can't ride with him. But it won't be like that forever. :)

Abbee's Field Trip

I was so excited to go with Abbee on her field trip to Ogden's Nature Center...

We walked around the pond real quietly to see if we could see any animals. We saw some turtles and ducks. We stopped at this look out over the pond. The kids got real excited when they saw 2 deer come out.

Abbee and her 2nd grade class sat on the steps for a picture with their teacher Mrs. Thinnis.

A 3rd deer came out as we walked on the trail.

The Nature's Center Leader taught us about insects, and what Macro Invertebrates are, and dressed up this little boy as a water insect.

Then they looked at insects threw a microscope. I got one in focus and it was so gross!

One of the workers found a snake outside and brought it in for the kids to see. Abbee's face is funny here. Haha. The kids were touching it and our Leader put a stop to it pretty fast. She said the whole experience was probably stressing out the snake. Which I'm sure was true, but I've never met someone so concerned about "preserving nature's habitat" before. :)

We went to a different pond and saw these 2 turtles on a log.

At this pond, the kids were given nets to see if they could catch insects in the water.

They mostly caught leeches, but they weren't the blood sucking kind.

They washed their hands and we all ate lunch outside. I'm so glad I could go with her this time. :)
