It's the Sunday morning session of general conference... we have something special planned.
Abbee is taking notes to earn conference coins for our 1st Conference Concession Stand.
Paisley is drawing a pretty picture and earned a coin.
Kalyssa is taking notes and drawing a picture too.
Baylee is taking lots of notes.
Willie quietly colored a nice picture for me and is earning conference coins by being reverent.
Emmy is funny... she has to play with something. She doesn't like to draw like Paisley.
The 3 older girls took at least a page and a half of notes... I was so proud of them! Everyone earned 7 conference coins to spend from taking notes, coloring church related pictures, and from being quiet during conference.
Then Cowboy Willie told Kalyssa to "Stick 'em up!" When he said it to the twins they'd lift up both arms... it was so funny.
After the morning session was over our Conference Concession Stand opened!
They waited in line and each spent one coin for one item, then went to the back of the line again until their money was all spent. They got drinks, lunchables, chips, cookies, ice cream, candy, other treats, and strawberries to dip...
I got the conference concession stand idea from the March issue of the Friend magazine... it was brilliant! :) I love the Friend magazine.
They ate their lunch and treats outside together.
Yummy... dipping strawberries in white chocolate!
The kids want to make the Conference Concession Stand a new general conference tradition for our family. But most importantly, I know they heard and learned from the conference messages by seeing their notes. And they got familiar with the apostle's names by writing them down as they spoke. They also learned about the quorum of the seventy.
