Hooper Tomato Days had a 5K and a Kids K race. Me, Baylee and Kalyssa went to participate while Abbee offered to stay home with the 3 little ones. :) We got up at 6:45 to head to Hooper for the race registration.
The 5K was first... I started too fast and paid for it towards the end of the race. I think I get caught up in my competitive side and don't pace myself as well as I should sometimes. But I got 2nd place in my age division (30-39). My time was 25:16, I'm happy with that. :)
Baylee and Kalyssa ran the half mile Kids K. Bay's time was about 5 minutes, and she got 2nd place out of the girls. Kalyssa's was about 6 minutes, and got 4th place out of the girls. I'm so proud of them for wanting to race and getting involved in the fun.
I hurried home to grab Abbee and the rest of my kids to bring them back to the park for the yummy breakfast. Then they played at the playground.
lol... Abbee put Emmy down the slide by herself... you can tell she didn't appreciate it.
Mary brought Taylee and Makayla to hang out with us at Hooper Days!
Will spotted the train and couldn't wait to ride it. Kalyssa rode with him in the caboose.
Abbee took Emmy.
Baylee took Paisley.
Makayla and Taylee.
The train started moving and everyone was all smiles.
The train ride drove all over a few baseball fields for about 5 minutes...
Baylee said Paisley kept talking during the ride.
Bounce house time.
The kids watched Kalyssa and Baylee on the trampoline.
Kalyssa was nervous being strapped in.
The kid bounced her real high to get her going, so she could try to do a back flip. She said it was hard and couldn't tip back far enough, but said it was fun.
Bay's turn...
He bounced her real high too, but Baylee couldn't get her knees up high enough to flip either. She said its harder than it looks. :)
Will and Abbee went back to the bounce houses.
After cooking in the sun for awhile it was nice to go back to the playground with some shade and watch the kids play.
Peek-a-boo Paisley!
We walked around the booths and played Plinko for some free prizes. We all got water bottles and some soft balls for Brandon. He says they are perfect for his potato gun... yeah, the one he shot Willie with!
Will wanted the Plinko chip.
All the kids.
"I'm done."
Emmy fell asleep in the stroller with her head on the front bar.
It was such a fun day for me, Mary, and the kids. It's probably the last Hoo-raw of the summer! Brandon started chopping corn this morning, so harvest time has begun at the dairy. We won't be seeing much of him for the next 6 to 8 weeks, and the kids are trying to get into the groove of school again. So today was a nice way to end the summer for us. :)
