I started working hard with Will this week on potty training. He starts preschool this fall and has to be potty trained by then!
He has filled up his 1st chart full of stickers, and has done so well! He is really proud of himself. The first couple of days it was a fight to have him sit on the potty, but he's learned that if he doesn't have to go, its OK, we're just trying. :) But most of the time he does go potty.
Willie is so excited and giving me a funky thumbs up and starts dancing around. Haha.
I took Jenna's advice... she said she set a timer for her girls, and took them to the bathroom every 20 minutes. The timer has really helped me stay on track with him, and when he hears it he knows what it means and runs to the potty with me. I've tried other things in the past that haven't worked... turns out stickers and a timer was all I needed to get him excited. We do a "you're awesome!" dance every time he goes and a high five.
He ran downstairs to show his sisters what he's accomplished.
He put it right in Abbee's face... :)
He wears pull-ups now. Even though they are very expensive, it seems to help him psychologically that he is a big boy now and he doesn't wear diapers anymore. We call his pull-ups "undies" so he knows there is a difference between those and diapers.
He's awesome! Way to go Will.
