Business Day

The 1st graders are learning about money at school. All month they've been earning paper money for turning in homework and library books on time and for whatever else they do. So far she's earned about $100 to spend on Business Day. The kids buy a business licence from their teachers and can sell anything they want. Kalyssa is selling pencils for $0.50, homemade necklaces for $5.00, and candy for $1.00 each.

She did awesome! She sold out on everything... and made about $150. She spent about $30 of it buying super balls, bracelets, playdough, suckers and pencils from other kids. One kids was selling gold fish, but sold out before Kalyssa got one. She was bummed. I think she learned a lot and had lots of fun. At the end of the month the kids will spend all their money to buy stuff from the teachers.

Little Buddies

I was tending Porter for Kaitlyn on Saturday... Porter brought his holster and a squirt gun, so William had to put his holster and belt on too.

I brought them to the farm to see the calves and tractors driving around.

Porter was so funny... aiming his empty squirt gun at all of them. :)

Then we checked out the mama cows eating.

They played in the backyard and at the farm for 3 hours... they were ready for a nap and watched Spiderman. They were such good buddies.

12 Weeks, 1st Ultrasound

Well... I'm 12 weeks pregnant and I had my first doctor appointment today. I got an ultrasound, so Brandon went with me to get our first look at our new baby.

I had to get a 3 month side picture... Will insisted he stand next to me. :)

At the Doctor's:
My doctor put the thing on my belly, and right away said, "Oh! Do you see that?" I got real excited and asked, "Is it a boy?"... she said, "...nooo, there's 2 babies in there!" Brandon literally jumped out of his seat (with Will in his arms) and said, "WHAT?"

Sure enough... you can see two babies in there. You can see two separate bubbles and a baby in each one... at the same time. OMGosh! We were in shock, to say the least... and still feel that way.

This is a great picture of both their heads... the two circles. You can see a wall between the two which means they each have their own sacks of fluid. Dr. Wood said from what she can tell, they each have their own placenta too! Which is awesome, so one isn't starving the other. They're both equal in size and right where they should be. Healthy twins are on the way!!! We're so relieved they're both doing great. :)

We have to blame everyone else for jinxing us! lol... all along everyone would joke that we're having twins cause I was showing super fast, it was embarrassing. My Grandpa John is a twin, so it's in my family, but you never think it's gonna happen to you!
We are so shocked to be having twins! I can't get over it. But I thought if that ever happened to me I'd feel stressed and real worried that I can't do it... but I honestly haven't felt that way at all. I'm just so happy! Brandon and I feel a lot of peace and have faith that Heavenly Father won't give us more than we can handle.

We told our kids during family home evening. We just showed them the ultrasound pictures and they asked questions trying to make sense of what they were looking at. Then Baylee pointed to the picture with the two heads and asked, "What is that?" I told her it was two heads! Kalyssa and Abbee looked at eachother totally confused like we are having a monster with two heads. Baylee got a huge smile on her face and totally lit up! She was catching on! haha. She said, "It's twins?" I told them we were and they all got so excited, and were shocked just like us. :)

It's wonderful.

Ear Tubes :(

Poor Will has had 5 ear infections in the last 3 months... just one after another! He was sent to the ENT, Dr. Bikhazi, and he said Will should definitely have tubes, so we scheduled his surgery for Friday at Ogden Regional Hospital. We had to be there at 6:30 am... whew, that's early! I got him undressed and put the cutest little hospital gown on him. I thought he looked adorable, but there was no way he was gonna let me get a picture. He was crying being very tired and hungry before the surgery. They brought him back to give him anaesthesia and the tubes... I was in the waiting room for literally 8 minutes, then Dr. Bikhazi comes out to tell me everything went great and to meet William in the Pediatric Unit in 20 minutes.

The nurses brought him back to me in his hospital room. They said when he woke up he was fighting them, so they couldn't check his vital signs. They let me hold him to calm him down for awhile, then tried later. I put his pajamas back on and gave him some juice to try to get him to relax. They said it's normal for kids to cry for a good half hour after waking up from anaesthesia. He is not happy! :(
We were at the hospital about 3 hours total. William and I went home and both took a 3 hour nap! Oh, I hope he can feel like a normal happy boy now without those dang infections.

The Rodeo

We went to the Winter Series Rodeo at Goldnen Spike Arena Friday night. Kole, Missy & Ryder went with us.

Kole and William watching the Rodeo

Haha... I love it! We put Will's cowboy hat on Ryder. Now I'm sure he wants to be a cowboy.

Brandon and Will both have their hats on. William hasn't liked to wear his until tonight. Probably cause Dad is wearing his. :) What Studs!

He played in it after we got home. When I took it off to get his pajamas on he was totally mad and cried.

Half-Time Show

Kalyssa was really happy when she got her dance uniform this week. Her dance team is performing for the half-time show of a basketball game.

Kalyssa and her cousin Taylee

The Super Stars Dance Team

Kalyssa is all the way to the left. She did really well. I could tell she's really improved since December at her last performance. :) Yeahy, Kalyssa!

The Movies

The day after Kalyssa's birthday was President's Day, and no school! We took her and two of her friends from her school class to the movies to see Mega Mind.

Hailee, Kalyssa, Callie, and William before the show. Kalyssa was tired of having her picture taken.

Abbee and Baylee came too, of course. 6 sodas and 6 popcorns comin right up! It was a funny show. They ate cupcakes and played at our house after the movie.

Kalyssa's 7th Birthday

I can't believe my baby girl is turning 7!

Our family came over Sunday to celebrate with us. She loved her classic roller skates and the Justin Bieber CD... haha.

I wanted a picture with my Big Sis! She has plans to move to Florida next month and I'm afraid I won't see her again before she leaves. :(
Anyhow.... Happy Birthday Kalyssa!

Valentine's Day

I have the best husband ever! I got home from the grocery store and saw this on my kitchen counter. He's so thoughtful and puts up with a lot from me lately. I've been so tired and nauseous since being pregnant... I'm sure I haven't been a picnic.
He made my day, and I love him so much!

I baked and frosted Valentine's Day sugar cookies with the girls that night.

They were so delicious...
...William covered himself in frosting somehow while eating his cookies.

Grandpa's Funeral

My sweet Step-Grandpa Perry Greenwood passed away. He was a pilot in World War II. The military had the same jet my Grandpa flew fly over during the service to honor him. It was really special for them to do that... he deserved it. I don't know a sweeter man than Grandpa Greenwood. He also worked as a Temple Sealer for many years, and sealed my Father to my Step-Mom Paula. :)

Will found a comfy chair to sit in.

My sisters and Step-Mom... Mary, Me, Kim, Paula, and Kylee

Me, Grandma Pauline Greenwood, and Mary
My Grandparents are amazing... I've learned a lot by observing them over the years.

Florida

We went to Florida for a Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers National Leadership Conference in Orlando. Woot-Woot! ...fun in the sun.

We arrived at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort very late Friday night. The resort was beautiful and HUGE. It was almost a mile walk from the check-in counter to our room. :) There is a sidewalk all the way around this pond... it was perfect for a morning jog cause it was about a mile around.

Saturday, February 5th:

Here we are walking to a Break Out Session on the first day of the conference.

Our large group from Utah made arrangements to have dinner at Medieval Times. The people we've met from all over our state and going to these Conferences together makes being in Farm Bureau so fun! We have a blast with these people.

Our super cool hats... Go Team Red!!!

Brandon sips his tomato soup out of a bowl. The food was real good and you have to eat everything with your hands.

We ate our feast while we watched the Knights compete on horseback in the arena.

We only cheered for the red knight, but he didn't end up winning. He smiled the whole time compared to the other knights, and you could tell he really loved his job... was funny.

Sunday, February 6th:

Brandon, Levi (with two thumbs up!), and Kole at one of the Sunday Breakout Sessions.

We had a luncheon sponsored by Case. We sat with other couples from Utah.

Kole, Levi, Jen and Brandon (us), and Wes. It's so funny... at all the conference luncheons and dinners they serve ice tea. You can tell which tables are from Utah cause all our ice tea glasses are left untouched.

During lunch they had 30 second State Introductions given by each YF&R State Chairman. Dustin is Utah's State Chair bragging that Utah is #1 in the Nation for child reproduction... among other things. :)

Brandon and I went to Downtown Disney. It's just a big walk to shop, eat, and they have entertainment shows too.
We went in Goofy's Candy Co. and saw the most delicious goodies ever! ...and the most expensive!

This stretch mirror made me have the long legs I've always wanted... but it gave Brandon capri's.

$10.00 for a special Mickey Mouse apple!

The Lego tent had a statue of Woody all made out of legos.

Here's a lego dragon.

We ate dinner at T-Rex Cafe. It was really cool inside with dinosaurs displayed everywhere.

Downtown Disney had a Harley-Davidson shop with custom Harleys on display... we hopped on for a photo.

Thjis was another cool resturant with 3 levels of Hollywood memorabilia. We didn't go inside, but I liked the outside. :)

The Conference hosted a Super Bowl Party for the YF&R that night, but Brandon and I decided to check out the resorts fun pool and spa for the evening instead.

Monday, February 7th:

Monday was the big tour day for the conference. Everyone from Utah was on the same tour and went to Deseret Ranches, then to Kempfer Ranch and Sawmill.
Deseret Ranches is located in Central Florida and is owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is their office... they had pictures hanging on the walls of pasts LDS prophets riding horses there on the ranch.

They brought us to one of the stalls where they gather and check their cattle.

We ate lunch at the Deseret Rodeo Arena. All of us from Utah sat in their bleachers for a picture. They used this picture to put in the Utah Farm Bureau Newspaper... I think we get one every month, or twice a month. I felt special they used my photo. :)

Right next to Deseret is the Kempfer Ranch & Sawmill.

We saw a small crocodile along the road, George Kempfer (our tour guide) stopped the bus, and jumped out to catch it! This is George and his twin running to get it.

He passed the crocodile around to let us hold it. I thought I'd be fine, but the texture and how meaty it was surprised me and I was totally shacking in my pants. We have to hold it's jaws closed and I almost dropped it... that would've been bad! All of us from the West would've scattered quick!!! The other YF&R members who lived around Florida didn't care to get out of the bus... crocodiles aren't anything new to them.

It was pretty late when we got back from the tour. All the resort lights look so pretty at night on the water I had to get a picture or two.

Tuesday, February 8th:

The Conference ended yesterday, but most of us from Utah stayed an extra day to play! Lots of them went to see Disney World, Epcot, and the Animal Kingdom. Brandon and I wanted to play where the big roller coasters are, so us and about 8 other couples spent our day at Universal Orlando Resort.

There is 2 separate parks, so we got a 2-park pass for the day...

 Park 1 - Universal's Islands of Adventure:

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! It was amazing all the detail to this place. I haven't read the books or seen the Harry Potter movies, so I didn't appreciate it as much, but it was still cool to see.

Inside this castle is the famous ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. This ride is awesome, but gave us some serious motion sickness. :)

While you wait in line there's really cool things to check out.

Seuss Landing is a big Cat in the Hat village for the kids.

We had lunch at Circus McGurkus Cafe and in the middle is a circle where the Dr. Seuss characters come out to dance and read stories to the kids.

I was minding my own business eating my pizza when Thing 2 came up behind me and about made me jump out of my seat! Our friends thought that was pretty funny... and we got a picture... no hard feelings.

There was a couple of big rollercoasters we rode in this park... Incredible Hulk and the Dragon Challenge. There was no lines, so we rode them over and over.

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man was real cool and 3-D. This is us in line with our glasses on.

Park 2 - Universal Studios Florida:
Walking between parks we saw the Universal ball.

I guess this is supposed the be like Hollywood. :) Mmmm... I HAD to get a chirro! Revenge of the Mummy is a really cool rollercoaster, and the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit... you pick your favorite song to rock to while on a super high speed rollercoaster... was cool. We pretty much just hit all the big rollercoasters at each park several times.

We went back over to the Island of Adventure park and had dinner at the Comic Strip Cafe. The food was terrible... tasted like a frozen entree. Maybe I'm just a picky pregnant eater and was expecting some fresh pasta to take care of my craving! :)

Wednesday, February 9th:

Time to fly home and see our kids! Yeahy!!!!  I've missed them terribly.

This is a picture of our room right before we left the resort. It was a cozy stay. :)

I snapped this picture as we left the government of Disney... haha... it's crazy there. It's like 50 square miles of nothing but Disney Resorts and Disney parks... no gas stations, houses or grocery stores until you pass through this sign and exit into the real world.
