A Tangled FHE

We had a Family Home Evening based off the movie Tangled. Satan is like Rapunzel's "mother" who tells her a bunch of lies to keep her in the tower and from discovering who she really is... like all of us... A Daughter (or Son) of a King. The King being our Heavenly Father.

Brandon & I tied yellow yarn (Rapunzel's hair) throughout every room in the house. At the start, we tied 2 ideas to them. One idea was what the world and Satan would have us believe about ourselves, and the other was an eternal truth and what Heavenly Father wants us to know about our divine nature as his literal Sons and Daughters. The kids read both ideas and picked which path they wanted to follow. Satan's paths we made lead to dead ends if followed, and Heavenly Fathers path lead to another room where we put 2 more ideas where they'd have to choose again. We set up 6 different idea places and it ended in my room where they found 4 crowns. I wrote on the inside with marker "Daughter of a King" on 3, and "Son of a King" for William. Plus a note that said, "You did it! You've reached your potential and earned your place in the Celestial Kingdom." Just like Rapunzel found her way back home to her parents Kingdom and discovered she is royalty also.

It was lots of fun, and the kids had a good time following Rapunzel's hair throughout the house.
