4th of July

After we left camp in Dry Fork, we drove straight to Lewiston to spend the 4th of July with Brandon's friend, Cory and his family that lives there. First we went to Lewiston 4th of July Rodeo. Then there was some bouncy toys and a couple rides in the park. We bought the kids 25 tickets to play.

 They loved this huge slide...
...and this clown ride that goes to the top and lets you free fall down. On the first drop, William had a look of horror on his face, but we were all laughing, so maybe that put him at ease. After the second drop, he couldn't get enough! He loved this ride, and cried when he had to get off.

They went on it again later. No one was behind them in line so the kid let them ride it for awhile longer this time... lucky ducks. :)

We went back to Cory's parents house to hang out until the fireworks. His sister made cute pirate maps for a scavenger hunt to find the treasure box. Kalyssa really got into the hunt with the kids. They opened the treasure box and it had sparklers, glow-in-the-dark necklaces, snaps, and gold coins inside.

Will and Cory's nephew are the same age. They didn't care about the hunt... they played on the swings.

Valerie got these 4th of July sugar cookies and frosting for the kids to decorate. Kalyssa frosted one for me, Brandon and William.

William dove into a kiddie pool that had a couple inches of water in it and soaked his clothes. I took them off and let him play in his diaper for awhile. He went too far on the wrong side of the swing and got stuck. haha.

We had our camp trailer parked in their backyard, so I got the kids in their pajamas before the fireworks started and laid down some blankets.

Brandon and his buddy Cory during the firework show. We were close enough to the park that we just watched them from Cory's parents backyard. We left after they were over to finally head home after a long weekend of camping. I was so glad to get in my shower at home! :)
