A Real Cowboy

After I put Willie down for a nap, sometimes I find evidence that he has climbed out of bed to get a toy to sleep with. Usually it's a tractor of some sort, but today I thought it was funny that he picked his gun and holster... and he fell asleep with his finger still on the trigger. haha... Little boys are so fun.

34 Weeks

I saw my doctor again today. She can only check the heartbeats on her ultrasound machine and they were perfect. Babies don't seem to be under stress at all. Baby "A" is still head down and Baby "B" is still breech... which is fine, and we can plan for a regular delivery. She wasn't going to check me today, but I asked her to. I'm so glad she did, cause I'm dilated to 2 centimeters and am 50% thinned out. She decided not to wait on the Strep B test and gave me that in case I don't make it to my next appt. I wasn't scheduled for another 2 weeks to see her, but she said I need to be weekly now. I'm the perfect candidate to be induced at 37 weeks but she said I won't make it that long and that I can go into labor at any time.
I'm so excited!!!

I only have a picture of Baby "B" from this appointment. It's a straight shot of her cute face. She has chubby cheeks! You can also see one eye, her button nose and lips.

How's Mama? I'm still hanging in there!!! July 29th we were headed to Heber for Baylee's Jackpot weekend with her lamb. For an hour, I was having pretty hard and regular contractions. I was about to go to the hospital, but once we arrived at the fair grounds and I got out of the truck, I had one more good contraction then they suddenly stopped. That was a little false labor scare for sure! And I've had many contractions before and since then, but nothing regular enough to call active labor. I have a ton of lower belly pressure, so I feel like I'm waddling around the house a lot, but I try not to in public. Haha... I'm a little self-conscious about that. It's getting SO SO hard to move from one side to the other at night in bed. The babies are about 10 pounds of awkward weight. Feels like my spine is going to snap in two when I try to move sometimes, and it hurts! :/ Oh well... I'm still exercising 6 days a week and all is the same. The last 10 minutes on the treadmill is pretty uncomfortable, but I push through it cause it needs to get done! I've been given no limitations throughout my pregnancy, and it's been so good... so now we're just waiting for them to arrive. All is well. :)

Weber County Fair 2011

I had a doctor appointment this morning so I missed Baylee showing her lamb for the Junior Market Lamb Show. Brandon said she did very well and Buddy took 2nd place. Baylee got a blue ribbon. Usually second place ribbons are red... we're not sure why they gave out blue to second place winners. Baylee is happy with herself and how she placed in this year's fair. The 4 Jackpots she participated in over the summer has helped her gain experience... all in preparation for the fair. The better placing you get at the fair, the more money you're likely to get for your lamb at the auction.

I made it in time to watch her for Junior Showmanship and got some photos.

There was so many in Junior Showmanship category, so the judge picked the top 4 in each round to come back all together at the end to compete against each other. Baylee was his first pick in her round.

Here, she is back for the final Showmanship round. The judge watches the participants lead their lamb around the arena and how they "set-up".

The judge asked every kid if they knew what breed their lamb was... He caught Baylee off guard and she didn't know the answer. Afterward, we found out that her lamb is a Hampshire lamb. You never know what the judge will ask. Baylee didn't place in Showmanship this year, but her lamb got 8th place overall for Market Lamb which means she is 8th in line for the auction. She sold Buddy for $608, and then received $315 in boost money... which is a little less than last year, but still VERY well for a summer of working hard with Buddy! All the fair money she earns every year, we put into her savings account for her to use when she's older... either towards her first car, or she can use it for college. After only 2 years in 4-H, she has a very decent amount saved. Abbee is old enough to start showing lambs next year with Bay... she is excited.

Baylee's fair poster her and I made to display with her ribbon above her lamb's holding pin.

Way to go Baylee!!! :)

Playing in the Water Again

The kids were playing in the water again. They had the slip-n-slide out and put this wacky spray tube my Dad bought them under the trampoline. Will looks like an infant in this picture.

I put the slip-n-slide on the tramp to spray the grass off it and to dry...

and Will took over.

Pillow Pet Club

The kids are funny what they come up with to keep busy. Will got a pillow pet for his birthday, now they all 4 have one. They brought their blankets, pillow pets, and snacks on the trampoline this morning, and called it a Pillow Pet Club.

The kids had fun with it.

Snooze Buddies

I tended Ryder for a bit today. The boys are both tired and lay down to watch Thomas...

They both sat up, but didn't last long.

Will's 2nd Birthday

After Abbee's baptism, Grandma Mitzi & Grandpa Russ brought William his new puppy before they headed back to Idaho. She was one of his birthday presents. Brandon really wanted to get him a buddy. She is a pure bred border collie and is 4 weeks old. Will loved her, but she was scared of him and wouldn't let him hold her. Will was frustrated and kinda cried about it. haha. They'll get used to each other.

We're having Will's birthday party today...

Will isn't the only one who loves the puppy. The girls are playing house with her as a baby in this doll car seat.

He just stared at his candle as we sung Happy Birthday to him... then just sat there after.

We coached him to blow out his candle, and he did it all by himself... first try!

He'd open a present and want to play with it and forget about the rest of his presents. I had to show him there was fun stuff wrapped in all of them, then he kept opening one after another. He'd get totally excited about every present he opened... was cute.

Time to eat cake & ice cream. But Samantha and I are pregnant, so we had vanilla ice cream in a cup with peanut butter stirred in. One of my favorite prego treats!

He has all his toys out of the packages, and was in heaven.

Brandon put Shay on Willie's shoulder...

Will gives her a kiss.
We named her Shay cause it's a name William can say. :)

He was too busy playing with his toys while we all ate cake... he sat down to have some after everyone left.

Will's cute pj's Grandma Mitzi got him.

Happy Birthday Willie!

Abbee's Baptism

I can't believe Abbee is 8! She is a sweet, tender-hearted girl and I could see a difference in her that day.

It's awesome to watch your husband baptize your children! I love it.

Mary getting a drink...

Grandparents eating refreshments afterwards in the church gym.

Abbee and her Grandma Sharon are looking at her baptism gifts.

Makayla being a clown with chocolate on her nose.

Vega Wedding

Isamar & Fernando are married!!!

William really likes Fernando and wanted to be in this picture... haha.

Fernando works with Brandon at the dairy. They've had the missionary discussions and want to be baptized, but had to get married first. Little Fernando Jr looks adorable, and Isamar is gorgeous. This is a big step in the right direction for them.

Jackpot In Heber

We pulled our camp trailer to the Heber Jackpot for Baylee's 2-day lamb show. Almost the whole way there, I was having hard contractions about every 5 to 10 minutes. I was afraid I was starting labor! Once we got there I got out of the truck and walked around. I had one more contraction and then they were gone! Whew! I really didn't want to have these babies in a Heber hospital without my doctor and being far from home and totally unprepared. The truck ride was too bumpy I guess. Brandon's shocks are terrible on his truck, all my contractions and cramping is proof of that. :)

Will played on this dirt pile nearby while everyone unloaded the sheep and steers for the show. Most of Baylee's 4-H club members was here participating in this Jackpot.

Brandon helped Baylee get her lamb ready and clean. Junior Showmanship was first...

Baylee with her lamb, Buddy... waiting for her turn in the arena.

The judge giving Baylee tips. She got 5th place in Showmanship. This judge wanted her to show more confidence and to be relaxed with her lamb.

The next day, Baylee showed her lamb again with the same judge, but in the Junior Market Lamb Show. This is were the lamb itself is judged. Baylee's lamb got 4th place.

Kalyssa's 1st Job

Katie, Riley and Kole put their chickens in our barn and asked Kalyssa if she wanted to feed them everyday and they'll pay her $5 a month... she agreed.

The first week she was nervous around them, afraid they'd peck at her, but she is a pro now... she figured out that if she gives them water in the outside section of the coop they'll go back there to drink while she climbs in the front section and gets the feed containers without them around her. Pretty smart!

It's been about a month and there is still 8 chickens! Haha.
