The Weber River runs behind the dairy where Brandon works. It's flooded 350 acres where corn is normally already planted this time of year. The river hasn't flooded since the early 80's, so I thought I'd get some pictures. These are the fields behind the dairy that are completely covered in water.
They've been hauling free dirt in from Willard Bay to build dikes up to prevent even more water from over flowing the banks of the river. The sooner it dries up, the sooner they can plant corn here for cow feed. This has been a terrible loss for the farmers in the area. Lots of reporters have been here tracking the flood and the huge impact it's had on everyone.
These helicopters were bringing in 2,000 pound bags of sand to line the river with to help try to save homes nearby. They worked on this for a few days.
I was taking pictures of the helicopters from my house and saw Will trying to feed the pigs chunks of dirt.
